S\u00e3o as empresas de software que determinam como o consumidor descobre, baixa e paga pelos apps. Quando a Netflix decidiu que seus novos clientes n\u00e3o podem mais pagar as mensalidades pelo iTunes, irritou profundamente a Apple. Agora, os assinantes s\u00e3o direcionados para fazer pagamentos no pr\u00f3prio site da Netflix.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>Apple pode perder meio bilh\u00e3o de d\u00f3lares <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>este ano por causa da Netflix<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Essa medida segue a do Spotify, outro grande servi\u00e7o online que em 2016 acabou com o suporte a pagamentos de assinaturas. E, por causa do crescimento explosivo de seu videogame <strong>Fortnite<\/strong>, a editora digital Epic Games disse que pretende criar sua pr\u00f3pria loja de aplicativos para jogos, numa tentativa de competir com as lojas on-line existentes. Pelos pagamentos dentro do aplicativo, a fabricantes do iPhone perde 30% da receita de assinaturas do primeiro ano e 15% da receita gerada pelos assinantes de longo prazo.<\/p>\n<p>A Apple ganhou mais de US$ 257 milh\u00f5es com a Netflix em 2018, de acordo a empresa de pesquisas Sensor Tower, de San Francisco. Como a Netflix n\u00e3o para de crescer no mundo inteiro, a dona do iTunes est\u00e1 perdendo apenas meio bilh\u00e3o de d\u00f3lares em 2019, considerando apenas usu\u00e1rios da Netflix. &#8220;Esse aplicativo \u00e9 incrivelmente popular, mas com o tempo vai gerar cada vez menos dinheiro para a Apple&#8221;, diz Randy Nelson, especialista em mobile da Sensor Tower.<\/p>\n<p>A Netflix informou em comunicado que os assinantes existentes ainda poder\u00e3o usar o iTunes para pagar por suas assinaturas, se quiserem. &#8220;A Apple \u00e9 um parceiro valioso, com quem n\u00f3s trabalhamos bem de perto numa variedade de dispositivos, com iPhone e Apple TV&#8221;, diz o texto. As demais empresas citadas n\u00e3o quiseram fazer coment\u00e1rios.<\/p>\n<p>Depois que a Spotify fez a transi\u00e7\u00e3o, a Apple viu uma queda consistente em suas receitas vindas desse app \u2013 caindo de US$ 11 milh\u00f5es por m\u00eas em abril de 2016 para apenas US$ 1,5 milh\u00e3o em dezembro de 2018. Uma din\u00e2mica semelhante, explica Nelson, afeta a Google Play Store, que n\u00e3o recebe mais pagamentos do Spotify desde 2014. A Netflix fez o mesmo em maio de 2018.<\/p>\n<p>As mudan\u00e7as do Spotify \u2013 e, em seguida, Netflix e Epic \u2013 ressalta o crescente dom\u00ednio dessas empresas. Como maior provedor mundial de video streaming, a Netflix pode esnobar a plataforma da Apple sem sacrificar sua visibilidade para potenciais clientes. Mas um pequeno desenvolvedor precisa do posicionamento que a loja de aplicativos oferece nas plataformas iOS e Android.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>O mercado n\u00e3o aceita mais os <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>altos lucros obtidos por Google e Apple <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>com a venda de aplicativos<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>O jogo <strong>Fortnite<\/strong> catapultou a Epic Games para uma posi\u00e7\u00e3o de lideran\u00e7a. A empresa obteve lucro de US$ 3 bilh\u00f5es em 2018, gra\u00e7as ao fen\u00f4meno cultural em que esse game se transformou. A experi\u00eancia, de acordo com o executivo-chefe Tim Sweeney, ensinou a Epic a criar um rival para Play Store, App Store e Steam, este o l\u00edder do setor de jogos, equivalente ao iTunes.<\/p>\n<p>A ideia de reduzir em 30% a receita de um desenvolvedor e repassar os 70% restantes foi um &#8220;avan\u00e7o&#8221; nos primeiros dias da internet, disse Sweeney ao site Game Informer. Mas, \u00e0 medida que a economia digital amadureceu e mais desenvolvedores come\u00e7aram a oferecer softwares, as plataformas continuaram a extrair altos lucros mesmo reduzindo os custos de funcionamento de uma loja de apps.<\/p>\n<p>A Epic Games informou que sua loja ser\u00e1 mais amig\u00e1vel para os fabricantes de software, cortando apenas 12% de sua receita. A loja foi lan\u00e7ada no ano passado para Macs e PCs, e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epicgames.com\/store\/pt-BR\/download\">acaba de liberar seu app<\/a>. Mas a Epic encontrou um obst\u00e1culo: a Apple Store pro\u00edbe aplicativos que servem de market-place para outros produtos, incluindo aplicativos.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>Quem sai ganhando, por ora, <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>s\u00e3o os produtores de games.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>O impasse significa que pode levar algum tempo at\u00e9 que a loja Epic Games esteja dispon\u00edvel para iPhones e iPads. E confirma como a Apple \u2013 famosa pelo controle sobre cada parte de seu ecossistema, desde os chips at\u00e9 os dispositivos e o sistema operacional \u2013 ainda mant\u00e9m significativa de influ\u00eancia sobre a \u201crebeli\u00e3o\u201d contra as lojas de apps.<\/p>\n<p>Mesmo assim, editores de conte\u00fado massivo (Electronic Arts, Activision, Blizzard e Ubisoft) nos \u00faltimos anos constru\u00edram lojas digitais que buscam afastar os usu\u00e1rios de plataformas populares como a Steam. Sua estrat\u00e9gia \u00e9 construir relacionamentos diretos com os jogadores e dar aos editores maior controle sobre sua propriedade intelectual.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As economias de escala n\u00e3o beneficiaram os desenvolvedores&#8221;, disse Sweeney \u00e0 Game Informer. Por enquanto, essas lojas de aplicativos baseadas em editores t\u00eam se concentrado na venda de jogos de PC e itens relacionados. Mas Brian Nowak, analista da Morgan Stanley, prev\u00ea que o modelo se espalhe para consoles e dispositivos m\u00f3veis.
