Com a concorr\u00eancia crescente, os fabricantes v\u00eaem cair suas margens e partem em busca de alternativas como as resolu\u00e7\u00f5es mais altas (4K, 8K), maior gama de cores (<em>Wide Color Gamut<\/em>), gama din\u00e2mica e melhores n\u00edveis de luminosidade (HDR).<\/p>\n<p>Fornecedores de displays LCD tentam reduzir a diferen\u00e7a de performance em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos OLED. Esta tecnologia emerge como sendo a pr\u00f3xima gera\u00e7\u00e3o, especialmente para smartphones, vest\u00edveis e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de realidade virtual, e roubando mercado do LCD. Foi a tecnologia que substituiu os antigos tubos CRT com pain\u00e9is planos, mais finos e leves. Depois, ao introduzir os backlights de leds em lugar das antigas l\u00e2mpadas CCFL, acabou ganhando a batalha contra o plasma, apesar que sua qualidade considerada inferior, porque apresentava menor consumo de energia, maior variedade de tamanhos e economia de escala.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cCom os displays QD, os<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>fabricantes querem criar<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>um novo ciclo de crescimento<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>estimulando o consumidor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>a trocar de TV\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Plasma e CRT eram displays do tipo \u201cemissivo\u201d, assim como OLED, este convertendo energia em luz diretamente a partir de cada pixel. OLED tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 superior ao LCD, em termos de n\u00edvel de preto, contraste e \u00e2ngulo de vis\u00e3o lateral. No entanto, embora seja uma desvantagem t\u00e9cnica, o fato de ser dependente de backlight pode ter atuado como um trunfo do LCD.<\/p>\n<p>Com o uso de leds, os TVs LCD acabaram criando um ciclo de crescimento ao estimular a troca constante de aparelho. A f\u00f3rmula vitoriosa era \u201cqualidade de imagem suficientemente boa\u201d com \u201cpre\u00e7o competitivo\u201d. N\u00e3o apenas revolucionou o mercado de TVs como se espalhou por todas as demais aplica\u00e7\u00f5es, como monitores, notebooks, telas industriais, equipamentos m\u00e9dicos, consolidando a tecnologia. Os pain\u00e9is QD (Quantum Dots) t\u00eam tudo para levar a um novo ciclo de crescimento, gerando demanda para substituir os modelos anteriores.<\/p>\n<p>A ado\u00e7\u00e3o de resolu\u00e7\u00e3o mais alta, novos processamentos de cores (WCG) e a codifica\u00e7\u00e3o HDR permitem ao consumidor enxergar e experimentar as reais diferen\u00e7as de performance. Os pontos qu\u00e2nticos v\u00e3o ainda mais longe, com n\u00edveis in\u00e9ditos de luminosidade.<\/p>\n<p>Um TV HDR QD pode exibir picos superiores a 1.000 cd\/m2 (candelas por metro quadrado) gastando menos energia do que um LED-LCD convencional. Chega a superar OLED em aspectos como volume de cor e lumin\u00e2ncia. E a LG ainda \u00e9 a \u00fanica fabricante de OLED, enquanto Samsung, Sony, TCL e outras est\u00e3o no segmento QD. Isso significa que a capacidade de produ\u00e7\u00e3o do OLED continuar\u00e1 sendo restrita por algum tempo.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cPain\u00e9is de pontos qu\u00e2nticos<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>devem ganhar o segmento<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>de telas grandes, enquanto<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>OLED ir\u00e1 dominar<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>os dispositivos m\u00f3veis\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Um segmento que certamente dar\u00e1 impulso \u00e0 tecnologia QD \u00e9 o de games. A Nvidia demonstrou um monitor 4K HDR com incr\u00edveis brilho, contraste e gama de cores, que utiliza um backlight do tipo full-array com 384 zonas. Atinge 25% mais espa\u00e7amento de cores que os modelos sRGB e \u00e9 compat\u00edvel com o padr\u00e3o de cinema DCI-P3. Asus, Acer e Samsung est\u00e3o introduzindo produtos similares, e outros fabricantes devem fazer o mesmo.<\/p>\n<p>Todos esses monitores high-end s\u00e3o direcionados aos gamers, assim como fot\u00f3grafos e designers. Na verdade, o tablet HDX, da Amazon, j\u00e1 usava pontos qu\u00e2nticos em 2013, s\u00f3 que at\u00e9 agora essa tecnologia n\u00e3o foi capaz de penetrar no segmento de laptops, tablets etc. Talvez devido ao custo mais alto.<\/p>\n<p>Enquanto isso, o setor de smartphones est\u00e1 amadurecendo. O crescimento \u00e9 menor e os fabricantes procuram focar em diferen\u00e7as de design; nesse ponto, a tecnologia OLED leva vantagem devido \u00e0 solu\u00e7\u00e3o dos displays flex\u00edveis e ao menor consumo de energia, e dever\u00e1 tirar mercado do LCD. Assim, ter\u00edamos este \u00faltimo dominando o segmento de telas grandes, ficando OLED com o de dispositivos m\u00f3veis.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m da Samsung, que adquiriu a Nanosys, dona da patente QD, esta tecnologia se desenvolve rapidamente, gra\u00e7as a outros grandes grupos de fabricantes, como 3M, Hitachi Chemical, Merck, Dow e Wah Dong.
