Com excelente senso de timing, a Samsung batizou sua linha de TVs 2024, apresentada semana passada em S\u00e3o Paulo, de \u201cGera\u00e7\u00e3o AI TV\u201d. Tudo a ver com o crescente interesse dos consumidores pela Intelig\u00eancia Artificial, tecnologia que, como j\u00e1 mostramos\u00a0aqui<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0e\u00a0aqui<\/strong><\/a>, tende a ser cada vez mais dominante. De fato, as novas TVs s\u00e3o um belo passo nessa evolu\u00e7\u00e3o. Quase d\u00e1 para afirmar que agora o usu\u00e1rio pode deixar sua TV funcionar sozinha: basta escolher o que assistir.<\/p>\n

Come\u00e7o pelo upscaling. Se os algoritmos j\u00e1 fazem milagres com os modelos de linguagem, que est\u00e3o por tr\u00e1s do Chat GPT e agora do Google Gemini, por que n\u00e3o us\u00e1-los para aproveitar o m\u00e1ximo das resolu\u00e7\u00f5es de imagem nas TVs? Na \u201cGera\u00e7\u00e3o AI\u201d, o processador da TV abriga gigantescos bancos de dados com imagens de todo tipo que servem de refer\u00eancia aos algoritmos. Upscaling, como se sabe, \u00e9 um processo de multiplica\u00e7\u00e3o de pixels para transformar, por exemplo, uma imagem Full-HD em 4K ou 8K.<\/p>\n

Com algoritmos de alta precis\u00e3o, os pixels s\u00e3o gerados a partir de informa\u00e7\u00f5es colhidas na an\u00e1lise de pontos da imagem original, que por sua vez s\u00e3o comparadas com as imagens de refer\u00eancia. Assim, o processador consegue manipular pixels originais e replic\u00e1-los de acordo com a necessidade (vejam neste v\u00eddeo<\/strong><\/a>). Uma imagem Full-HD cont\u00e9m pouco mais de 2 milh\u00f5es de pixels. D\u00e1 pra imaginar a engenharia de software necess\u00e1ria para transform\u00e1-la em 33,176,600 desses elementos, ou seja, uma resolu\u00e7\u00e3o 16X mais alta!<\/p>\n

Mais impressionante \u00e9 que tudo isso acontece em tempo real, enquanto voc\u00ea est\u00e1 assistindo seu filme numa TV 4K ou, como no exemplo acima, 8K. A Samsung ressalva que ainda n\u00e3o \u00e9 poss\u00edvel atingir toda essa quantidade de pixels, da\u00ed por que nas especifica\u00e7\u00f5es sobre upscaling h\u00e1 sempre a cita\u00e7\u00e3o \u201cpr\u00f3ximo de 8K\u201d.<\/p>\n
